Product Details

Quality, commitment, and professionalism have made JOBO one of the leading brands in the photographic industry since 1923. JOBO tanks and products have become legendary and JOBO's innovations set the standard for darkroom processing.

In its 100th anniversary year, the company is proud to release the JOBO SilverBase, its smallest rotary agitation film processor yet. While the last 10 years have seen JOBO focus on processors that are mostly used by labs, professionals, and amateurs who develop high volumes of color film, the SilverBase is the perfect product for those with limited space, more modest budgets, and an emphasis on B&W film.

The processor uses a motor to rotate the magnetically coupled developing tank both clockwise and counterclockwise. Changing the direction of rotation during processing ensures that the entire surface of the film receives an even flow of chemistry and avoids the formation of bromide plumes. Rotary agitation can allow users to achieve highly reproducible development results and reduce the amount of chemical concentrate used with one-shot B&W film developers.

Unlike other JOBO rotary processors, the SilverBase does not have a water jacket, making it far more compact, affordable, and particularly well suited to B&W film development, which usually takes place at room temperature. The JOBO SilverBase is compatible with all tanks from the 1500 series and the 2520 tank, allowing users to process 35mm, 120, and 4x5 film with the ease that JOBO is known for industry-wide.

Note: Variant with 1520 tank and 1504 magnet includes one 1501 reel. If purchasing the variant without tank or magnet, users will need to purchase a 1504 Magnet to attach a tank to the processor.
